Geo-Targeting TFL Bus Display

Geo-Targeting TFL Bus Display

Gruelling but exciting project just completed to produce the first twenty one four metre long digital display for the side of London buses. We have fabricated all of the sheet metal components plus all of the electronic control equipment and wiring looms. Many, many, many hours of work all diligently completed by Jon, Gary & Max.

When installed on the side of a bus, the technology displays imagery and text relevant to the location of the bus, for example nearby shops, landmarks or public service information.

You may have heard of the first company to advertise on these – for the first three months, on all of the screens on all of the buses Google is promoting its newly-unveiled Pixel 2 smartphone, displaying geo-targeted messages across the UK capital.

Dave King, Exterion Media’s managing director, said: "This is a huge moment for bus advertising; the product delivers stature, movement, scale, dynamism and geo-targeting – offering a whole new dimension to broadcast and narrowcast through this hugely attractive channel."

It was a pretty big moment for our team too – the most complex yet rewarding project to date.  Thanks to all at MotionLED for choosing us to help them deliver their solution.
